I want to introduce you to my family. I love my family. So I’ll introduce them a little here and a little there. I want to start with my grandparents on my mom’s side --- Frank & Iva Zimmerman [yep, true-blue Swiss-German just like the name implies . . .but American/Swiss-German.] So much American that my sweet grandpa went off to the war when my mom was due to be born and he served our country gallantly in a needy time. While there, he was hit by a Jap bullet right at the heart but God spared his life in an amazing and miraculous way!! I’m forever grateful to God for sparing his life, as we all are in our family. Go to this link to read the story about how an ammo clip saved my grandpa’s life. Go to this link to read about his latest medal of honor awarded to him from the United States Government.
My grandma and grandpa have been married now 65 years and they are still going strong. My grandpa has a soft heart and used to love to take pictures and write as a hobby (hmmmm --- I wonder who he passed that hobby down to?) My grandma still cooks for him each day and she is incredible at any sort of brain game --- like crosswords, puzzles, bingo . . . anything.
Here are their photos. Plus a photo of their 3 kids. My mom is in the middle and her youngest brother, my Uncle Rick, is on her right. Her middle brother, my Uncle Kent, is on her left. These pictures were taken about a week ago when they all went to Oregon to celebrate my Grandma’s birthday.
